“The Cottage is an old property with a contemporary twist; full of character yet fresh and light, decorated in whites, blues and greens. A really lovely home.”
The Cottage is an unusually light, refurbished stone cottage tucked away in a quiet, secluded corner of the village, yet only yards from the water and the excellent Shipwrights Arms pub. It’s just a 3-minutes walk to Helford point and the ferry.
From the charming enclosed patio, the front door opens into the large living/dining room featuring a stone fireplace with wood-burner, oak floor, dark blue comfy chairs and fluffy rugs. There is a flatscreen TV, Blu-ray DVD player and Apple TV.
The newly fitted kitchen in blue and ivory is beyond the dining area, and includes a microwave and dishwasher, a slate floor with under-floor heating, and a breakfast bar overlooking the river. There is a bunk room with full length 2’6” beds next to the sitting room – a good children’s hideout.
Upstairs is a lovely duck-egg blue family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, double bedroom with stunning river view, and a spacious main bedroom with 6’ bed. There is also a quiet reading room/snug on this floor, with a comfy double sofa bed.
Outside there is a sheltered sun trap patio running the length of the property with garden furniture, and a useful separate utility room housing the central heating boiler, a freezer, washer, dryer, and a second loo and basin. There is an outside hot water shower on the patio, ideal for sandy wet-suits and kids.
There is private parking for two cars 50 yards beyond The Cottage. Bed linen and towels are provided. Hot water, central heating and electricity included. Starter logs provided.
The Cottage comes with its own all-tide mooring at Potter’s pontoon, 3-minutes walk away, available for use by guests with their own boat for an extra charge.
